Do u know of anyone who has been cured of herpes?
My friend and i been having a discussion about STDs. It just so happen that a close friend of ours have genital herpes. She was told by her doctor that there is no cure but the thing is we have heard about all sort of remedies. Some that won’t be in the pharmacies because if a cure exist it means no more money for these drug companies. I know that there are some success stories out there.
Is there anybody out there who has a remedy that works? Please do share.
I know there isn’t a cure, but what works, what prevents the outbreaks. Apart from Valtrex, has anyone every tried a remedy on their own

Herpes and its close relatives (shingles, chickenpox, cowpox, monkeypox, smallpox) can not be cured. These viruses live inside neurons, where drugs usually can not reach them. Some antiviral medications can shorten the duration of outbreaks (Valtrex), but none can prevent the viruses from remaining alive, reproducing, and causing flare ups.
Many viruses insert themselves into the host’s DNA, and become (to the body) indistinguishable from the DNA that is supposed to be there. A drug attacking this type of virus then appears to the body to be an attacker, and the body defends against it.

sorry, there are no cure for herpes but the give you medicine to keep in under control n you should always use protection

I read this with interest, because if there is a cure, i would like to know..
but i do believe this is just hear, say.
just like they were saying they found a cure for hepatitis c.
and even if they did it probably wont even be released for another ten years, due to all the corrections and advancements they will have to make, so that it will cure everybody and not just some….
your friend should not be worried, herpes is an incurable std, but it does not limit you to any life capabilities, it does not make you less of a person, and it is not terminal…
its one of those things in life that you have to learn to accept and move on, no one picks their own destiny, they just help guide it…

Its a virus.. most diseases that come from a virus are incureable. Homemade remedies seldom work. You can only keep the outbreaks undercontrol.. and then you can still give it to your partner. Consider celibacy.

There is no cure. There is no treatment that prevents outbreaks 100%. Even when the disease is quiescent, the patient is still contagious.
