The thing about it though, like with a lot of meds, you have to take it at the same time EVERY day. L-Lysine (in the vitamin section) 500mg/day seems to help keep them away better When I feel the PREsymptoms (tingling or itching) I'll rub hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol on the area & that makes alot of outbreaks NOT happen! If you're already broken out - a little Abreva (also over-the counter) will kill the virus in the sores - just do that on day ONE then hydrogen peroxide helps dry it out so it'll heal quicker (steer clear of ANY gooey things like neosporin - will keep it from scabbing up)<br><b>References : </b><br>20+ years with genital herpes - tried it all!
