I’m on herpes medication, how long until it’s safe to have sex again?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Herpes medication

Hi,

I was recently diagnosed with herpes, and the doctor put me on herpes medication (famvir)..

Although I wasn’t told when it would be safe to attempt sex again? Anyone know?

Finish the medication and wait until the out break completely goes away. Herpes is very contagious while there are any signs of an out break. Then wait a few more days just in case. You should also make your future partners aware of your condition. There is still a slight chance of passing herpes on when there are no symptoms, but taking antiviral meds or using suppressive therapy can help reduce your risk of transmission.

after finishing all the medication, you can wait a week will be better But have in mind that even if the herpes is inactive it is possible that you can pass it to your partner it will be better if your bf use a condom. at all times.

    hope this help
