About those Herpes medication commercials?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Herpes medication

Why are all of the people in those Herpes medication commercials good looking and happy? I am disease free and yet I am miserable. The commercials basically allude to the fact that people with herpes get to go rock climbing, rafting, hiking and date good looking people.

You are the victim of really top notch advertising. Herpes is no big deal. Most people have acquired herpes I (oral) by the time they are three years old — cold sores.(adults kiss and spittle on them googooing at babies….) . And most women infect themselves with oral herpes in the genital area when they moisten a tampon, with saliva, and have an cold sore they just aren’t paying too much attention to….Herpes is inconvenient, but most people only have a few outbreaks everyfew years or so…… AHHHHH but drug companies make no money if you don’t buy their product, now, do they?? Genital herpes are on average one or two little cold sores around the perianal area, and stay a tad tender for 7-14 days, Zoverax, an ointment takes the sting out. But if these drug companies can sell you a product that you have to take for YEARS, how wonderful (and profitable too!!!! for them…… )Herpes is really just bothersome unless you are a pregnant female about to deliver, and are having an outbreak. Then, exposure of the mucus membranes of the birthing child to active herpes in the mother often results is some nasty neurological events. Otherwise, herpes is just a cold sore on your bottom. Big deal. This was all blown out of proportion in the 1980’s when the major news magazines had not too much to write about, and suddenly front page stuff on Time and Newsweek. Interestingly, when the AIDS epidemic came along, suddenly herpes was never mentioned. HMMMMMM interesting, huh? Even if you get herpes, the likelyhood that it will have any major effect on your life is slim. Every one you know has the herpes cold virus—Everyone!. How many of those people have debilitating cold sores all over their mouth for weeks and months at a time. In my experience, I have known of only two, and I am old as the hills. Certainly do not avoid a relationship with someone just because they have genital herpes. And, it is extremely unlikely that you can get the virus unless that person is having an outbreak. (And of course, the drug companies, just so they are not sued, have a disclaimer…. gee, they get it both ways, don’t they?? They get to sell a drug that few really need, then get to say, even if you aren’t having an outbreak, you can still spread the disease. Perfect world for them wouldn’t you say?????And even if you do, so what. AIDS, on the other hand IS a big deal

    LOL!
I hope they pay those actors good anyway. Who’d want to be on national tv saying I have herpes???

It is just a commercial. Most people on tv are good looking in some way. If you are miserable, then I would talk to your doctor about some meds and/or counseling.

Haha, maybe it’s to make you think "herpes doesn’t look that bad". I honestly have no idea why they make commercials like that. It’s probably to show that you can have a normal life with herpes.

A lot of drug ads are like that. Have you seen the one about the birth control Yasmin, with all the women at this club and then the one women starts going on and on and on about it because she’s a "doctor". Most drug ads are pretty stupid.

It’s a commercial, and if they put ugly people in it suffering, then no one would look at it, rite? If you are unhappy then you need to look at why, and maybe it’s time to make some positive changes in your life. Good Luck
