How much closer are they for a cure for Herpes?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Herpes Cure

Im askin this for any kind, 1 or 2. I know that 70% of the pop has one form or another in their system.

I heard they were doing tests in San Diego to get a vaccine for both kinds but that was a month ago.

Seems like they will have a cure in 8-10 years, even though I wouldnt want to put a time on it.

Any info?

Hi, I have Herpes. I am sorry you have gotten such poor answers to your question.

Vaccines trials are being done mostly on women:

GlaxoSmithKline which recently released the vaccination called Gardisil for HPV is working on a vaccination for Herpes. So let’s hope we are within 5 years of actually having the FDA approve a possible vaccination.

I personally doubt they will actually find a cure for Herpes because there are so many different strains and the virus can mutate. It is an elusive disease.

They are closer to finding a Herpes vaccination than they are finding an actual cure for Herpes. The sad fact of the matter is that medical dollars are not going toward finding a cure for Herpes because it is not a life threatening disease. Doctors view it more as a skin condition that can be fairly easily managed.

However, because of the social stigma, society makes it very hard to live with from an emotional standpoint. Some things the general public does not realize:

1) Condoms do NOT fully protect against Herpes because it is transmitted by skin-to-skin contact
2) 1 in 4 women and 1 in 5 men HAVE genital Herpes while 90% of people who have it don’t KNOW they have it
3) You can get Herpes from ORAL sex
4) You can get Herpes from someone who does NOT have physical symptoms
5) Most people have never gotten tested for Herpes because it is generally NOT included in a full STD screening

Therefore, no matter who you are, you are at risk of getting Herpes.

Luckily, not everyone is so closed-minded as your previous "experts." My boyfriend does not have Herpes, and he is knowingly dating a hot, smart chick who happens to have it. :-)

    Probably not very much closer.

Have you seen the commercial about a man with herpes and a hot woman who is dating him because he takes some silly medicine? MmmHmm. Right.

Dating a person with herpes is the height of stupidity.
