herpes is there a cure. are there any vaccine that will cure the virus?

I have herpes for the last Six months and it is very annoying to me I will like to know what is the best medication and where is the site for trial located for tezsting to ge cure.
In all of medical history there has NEVER been a cure for ANY virus, including herpes. There are supression methods for the symptoms and prevention tactics to prevent the spread, but NO CURE…

youll have herpes forever once you have it but theres a cream you can put on it which will make it less noticable and less inflamed

There is no cure for herpes. Should have had safe sex! Better luck in the next life, being irresponsible sucks doesn’t it?

There is no cure. Valtrex is a good medicine to prevent outbreaks. Go to your doctor or Planned Parenthood to get tested and get meds.

Because it is a virus, there is currently no cure. There are only treatments to lighten the pain. Go to your local hospital (seriously) and ask about local centers doing tests to try and locate a cure.

No known cure. There is medicine to minimize or eliminate outbreaks. Although you are much less likely to infect someone when you are not having an outbreak, you can infect someone at anytime.
Take our meds, tell your partners you have Herpies and always use protection.
Some people who have herpes seek out others who also have herpes. Be upfront about it.

There are anti-virals to take to help prevent herpes outbreaks, and to cause an outbreak to resolve more quickly.
That being said: THERE IS NO CURE FOR HERPES!!
It is the gift that keeps on giving. You can transmit it to your partner even if you are not in an active outbreak.
A mother can transmit it to the baby upon birth.
Before having sexual relations, inform your potential partner that you have herpes. Wear a condom. Learn from your doctor how you can lower the chance of spreading it.

Genital herpes is the same virus as chicken-pox. At least 2/3rds of Americans have some version of herpes.
It lives dormant in your lower spine until it shows itself in outbreaks on the lips (cold sores), genitals, or all over your body (shingles).
The modern anti-viral medications work well to decrease symptoms and the frequency of outbreaks.

I’m sorry John but to date there is no known cure for herpes
The good news is though that it doesn’t get worse…It can’t kill you…and other then being a little painful or itchy and annoying and dang inconvenient…It’s harmless. You do have a very big responsibility now to share with any partner prior to sex that you have it. Do a search on any search engine and you will get more information then you need on hand! Good Luck…and please make sure your honest with your partners!

Geez! Stop attacking the guy…
He gets it – no cure….but this doesn’t make him a horrible dirty nasty person – 1 in 3 people have this virus.
Treatments – presciption Valtrex is available if you see a Dr
If you want to keep in "over the counter" I use hand sanitizer on the area that breaks out when I feel one coming (itching and tingling under the skin) They should happen in the exact same area over & over and become easy to spot.
Abreva (made for cold sores on the mouth – also herpes) does help make the outbreaks of genital herpes go away quicker too….but still not immediate relief.
Take care of yourself – Eating right, exercise and vitamins help (i know – that’s the answer to EVERYthing!) help. Especially the vitamin supplement L-Lysine
Sun exposure is a trigger as well as stress
***And please practice SAFE SEX! If your outbreaks are on your penis shaft – a latex condom will be effective….but if it’s on your scrotum or edges or your penis – it will be ineffective…it’s best to NOT have sex when you have an outbreak or feel one coming on….until it’s completely cleared up
