usually how long is a herpes breakout? how much time does it take from the time it breaks out to when it heals? is it painful? or itchy?

It varies from person to person. Average out breaks can last about 1-3 weeks. It can take 7-14 days for an out break to heal depending on how sever it is. The first or initial out break is usually very painful and for some also itchy, it’s the usually the worst one you will have.
