if she has herpes and they had unprotected sex then this guy already can have herpes....
anyway once a person becomes infected, Herpes Simplex Virus lies dormant in the body, waiting for just the right conditions to become active again. There can be many triggers which activate the virus, such as eating arginine-rich foods (like chocolate, cola, beer, seeds and nuts); the onset of a cold or fever; sunburn; the menses cycle & any physical or emotional event that introduces stress to the body. Each person's triggers are different, but all herpes sufferers have one thing in common--worrying about the next outbreak adds even more stress, which just feeds the vicious cycle and makes it worse!
And there is no real treatment that can cure herpes, but antiviral medications can shorten and prevent outbreaks during the period of time the person takes the medication. For example Herpeset is a good (probably the best) product. It works by stimulating your immune system to fight the HSV virus.

It worked and is working for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Herpeset but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.herpeset.com/?aid=749165 . In addition, daily suppressive therapy for symptomatic herpes can reduce transmission to partners...!

since 2005 I got 5 outbreaks! every outbreak every ~6 months. every spring and every autumn! that was very hard time for me! then I started to use the proper diet for me and some herbal treatment and listen "Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry Be Happy" . Now I don't have any outbreaks for about ~2 years!

good luck!

1. There is a chance he could have gotten it, no matter what percentage is put on the chances, the fact is he still could have gotten it. Without his own knowing. that's fucked up.

2. The worst thing a person with herpes can do, is let it change their self worth and not tell their sexual partner that they have it. It doesn't matter if she has low self esteem or not, that is one of the most selfish things in the world. The reason why i'm allowed to say this is I have herpes and it's because of people like her that this shit gets spread to more of the population. (which i'm guessing you feel some what the same way since you said you told her off).

3. Let her know, that if he or any future sexual partner that she decides to not tell EVER finds out that she knew she had herpes before they had sex and just decided to not tell them(and they get it from her), that they can sue her AND they will win. It's the same with every other std infection. Hopefully that helps her get some balls and some self worth to be honest next time.

Hope this helped.

oh, and no. once he has it.. there's no medication to stop him from getting it. only medication to suppress it but he will always have it for the rest of his life. tell your friend to grow up, please.
References :
herpes patient

If she completely avoided sex right before, during and right after outbreaks, then his chance of catching herpes is about 6% per year. Not huge, but not insignificant. You can spread herpes when no symptoms are present, but not all the time - only once in a while will she be contagious with no symptoms.

If they had sex while she had an outbreak, then he has almost certainly caught it by now. It is VERY contagious during outbreaks.

If he still doesn't have it, there is nothing that he can take to protect himself (and condoms don't do much to protect against genital herpes, either.) She, however, could start taking a daily "supressive" antiviral - like Valtrex or Famvir. This will cut her chances of spreading her herpes by 50% by reducing the amount of time that she is contagious without symptoms.

For more information about genital herpes, I suggest the website below.

Good luck.
References :
http://www.ashastd.org/herpes/herpes_learn.cfm
