Do peanuts really trigger herpes breakouts?

Are there any scientific studies that proves this assumption or is this just a rumor?

According to the Herpes entry in Wikipedia there is a connection between substances in peanuts (and other nuts) and the reactivation of an existing herpes infection.

The only thing I can think of is eating from a "community" bowl of peanuts. I have never heard of just a peanut giving anyone herpes though. It must be from a dirty person sticking their dirty hands into the community bowl.
