what FOODS to avoid when herpes breakout?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Herpes breakout

Keep track of what foods trigger your out breaks and avoid them as much as possible. Foods that usually trigger mine are sugar, chocolate, alcohol, oats, carrots and wheat. If I have too much of those regularly I could get an out break. You should probably avoid having too much chocolate, sugar and alcohol those can commonly trigger out breaks. You can have them but in moderation.
Try to have foods that have Lysine in them or foods that will boost your immune system, if you eat healthier you can help to prevent out breaks.

Low cost herpes medication?

What are the lowest-cost herpes medications for both outbreak only treatment and daily therapy?

My doctor prescribed me valtrex for as-needed care but at a cost of 50$ (after what my insurance covered) for a 10day trial run it took a large chunk out of my food budget.

I’m afraid that the option will be food OR Valtrex if he advises a daily therapy, 3x a day, at around 2.50$ a pill= around 225$ a month.

Are there any other, lower-cost herpes medications?
I’m in the south western US

Wal-mart has a $4 prescription for ACYCLOVIR. Sounds like you aren’t in the US though, so I am not sure if it is available where you are.

An alternative that some people take is a vitamin supplement called L-Lysine. Some say it helps prevent outbreaks. However, it does not decrease asymptomatic viral shedding so does not reduce the risk of transmission.

Mariya F its not genital herpes note that i said its on the side of my lip. and i know there is no cure for it, its just an outbreak i need to control it from spreading

When you go to the dr. ask to have the cream called denivir, it works really well, it drys the cold sore up in about 2 days, only thing is though its about $40 but its well worth it when your lifps feel like they are going to fall off!

How close are they to finding a cure For HIV, AIDS, Genital herpes?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Herpes Cure

Im just wondering. Also do you think there will ever be a cure?

The problem is the outer shell of the virus:you need to make a key that fits to get to the core. And kill it.
The horrible HIV-virus changes all the time:years ago there were 4 variants:lost track after that.
And viruses cannot be cured at all.
The symptoms can be treated.
Sorry for all those million infected:they will die anyway.Especially in Africa:no money to get treatment.

Been a "buddy"for years till the meds got that much better that HIV /Aids patients can take care of themselves.

How can it be known if a child has caught herpes through child birth?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Herpes

A friend of mine has found out that she has genital herpes . She deliver all her children through vaginal birth, oldest child being 16 and youngest 4 . How would she know if her children have genital herpes.

Plenty of people have herpes without ever knowing it. Sometimes there aren’t any symptoms. If they have ever gotten cold sores, that’s a sign of herpes. A mother could pass herpes on to her child even if she wasn’t having an outbreak. i think it’s called asymptomatic shedding or something, but it’s not likely especially if her doctors put her on medication just before she gave birth. But she should have her kids get a blood test just to make sure so they don’t accidentally infect anyone else.

Can can a female tell if she has a herpes breakout. I am taking valtrex and its not working.?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Herpes breakout

If you are referring to a genital herpes breakout, she could use a mirror and check for lesions, blisters, or reddened tender areas.
But the only one who can visualize the entire female anatomy would be a Doctor. If there is even a chance that she has been exposed she should be checked. As for the valtrex not working, what do you mean, are you still having pain, are the areas not responding? It does take some time for the medication to work, but if you are not satisfied contact your Physician, there are alternative treatments now, or you may also need an antibiotic. Good Luck.

Can i stop my genital herpes outbreak from getting worse or end it without medication?

Is it possible for the outbreak to fade away without taking medicine?

I will give you my personal advice. I contracted herpes 10 months ago after I was raped. 3 weeks after the rape I had an outbreak. Just this past week I had my second outbreak. I researched herpes online and I got a list of vitamins and supplements/herbs to take.

I found that baby powder and lemon balm were incredibly helpful. I found lemon balm at my local health food store. They made the blisters shrink in only one day.

Keep in mind that the most powerful thing to clear your herpes is your immune system. Work on getting into the best possible physical and mental health, then your immune system will suppress the virus and keep it in a dormant state.

How to stop a herpes outbreak? ?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Herpes Remedy

I have just had my first extremely painful outbreak! and I do not want to go threw it again..But now i feel the itching coming back all over again..I would like to know any remedies home or store bought(not too expensive though) that will help stop blisters from forming..That was the most painful part..And it got so unbareable, so any help would be great..Please no rude answers thanks!

Once it’s in full gear there is nothing much that can stop it. If you are just in the beginning of having symptoms then L-lysine could help, or apple cider vinegar, Borasol (diluted with water then soak a wash cloth in it, apply the cloth down there for a few minutes), taking warm baths with Epsom salts (won’t stop the blisters but can give you some relief), even putting hydrogen peroxide on the blisters that are all ready there (but won’t prevent new ones from popping up). There is medication that you can help heal an out break. Most of the remedies I know of are meant to sooth an out break in progress, medication can help stop an out break and heal it faster.

how many days maximum will take to cure herpes?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Herpes Cure

i dont have itching but its burns like crazy.. cnot sleeping 1 hour also wt to do

There is no cure for Herpes. Once you have it, you unfortunately are stuck with it for life. Herpes outbreaks can vary in time, and can be shortened with medication. Most herpes outbreaks last anywhere from 7-14 days. If you are uncomfortable, try going on a suppressant like Valtrex. If you are in-insured, L-Lysine works extremely well. It’s a dietary supplement you can find at any pharmacy.

How long does it take to detect vaginal herpes?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Herpes

I have had through out the years vaginal lesions. I didn’t think they were vaginal warts because there was not a wart bump, but more like a open sore. I as the doctor a year ago if I could have herpes and she said I had to come in when I had an outbreak. Now I am pregnant and my doctor says I have herpes and will need cream to put on during the birth so my child wont get it. I have a son 5 years ago and the doctor never said anything about herpes to me then. Is the blood test for herpes a new test? Would it have been detected 5 years ago if I had it then?

You have to have a blood test done during an OUTBREAK, because the antibodies are in your system, trying to fight off the herpes virus. That is the only time it will show up in a test. If you didn’t know you had herpes 5 years ago, then your doctor would not have known. Like I said, unless you told the doctor, or there was an outbreak (something for your doctor to see and TEST), then he would not have known. As for your current pregnancy, you need to be put on Valtrex (yes, it is safe), because if you have an outbreak and then have a vaginal birth, the baby will be exposed with potentially life threatening consequences. If you have an outbreak despite Valtrex when it is time to deliver your baby, your doctor will need to perform a c-section, NOT administer a "cream". This is serious business and it concerns me that your doctor is talking about creams and not putting you on medication.
